A Black & White Indianapolis Wedding with Plenty of Kokomo Connections
Morgan and Parker’s July 31 wedding at Laurel Hall in Indianapolis was elegant, personal and filled with details that told their story.
The two are college sweethearts who met at Indiana University, and for their wedding they chose a classic black-and-white palette that was absolutely beautiful against the historic setting of Laurel Hall.
And although the wedding took place in Indianapolis, Kokomo was definitely well represented!

A Classic Black & White Wedding

Morgan chose a timeless black-and-white color palette, which fit Laurel Hall perfectly. We kept the flowers mostly white and green, allowing the textures and shapes of the flowers to do the work rather than introducing a lot of additional color.

The Ceremony at Laurel Hall
The outdoor ceremony took place at Laurel Hall, and we kept the floral design consistent with the clean black-and-white look of the rest of the wedding.
The grandmothers were included in such a sweet way, tossing petals as they came down the aisle before the rest of the processional.
With the historic setting of Laurel Hall, the white florals and greenery didn’t need to overpower the space. Everything was designed to complement the architecture and create a ceremony that felt elegant, personal and completely connected to the rest of the wedding.

Morgan’s Bouquet
Morgan’s bridal bouquet was designed entirely in white, featuring roses, larkspur and cascading hanging amaranthus, finished with greenery and touches of gold foliage. The loose, slightly cascading shape gave the bouquet beautiful movement while keeping it soft, romantic and elegant—a perfect complement to Morgan’s classic bridal look.

A Reception Filled With Personal Touches
The reception continued the classic black-and-white look, but it never felt overly styled or impersonal.
Between the flowers, family pieces, favorite candies, cake, cookies and all of the other details Morgan and Parker chose, the room still felt very much like them.
Sentimental Details
Some of my favorite details from this wedding were the ones that had absolutely nothing to do with trends.
To finish Morgan’s bouquet, we used fabric from both her mother’s wedding dress and Parker’s mother’s wedding dress. Morgan’s mom also wrote a note on the fabric, making the bouquet even more personal.
Morgan also incorporated Lenox vases and candy dishes that belonged to her grandmother, Debbie, into the reception. The candy dishes were filled with favorite candies from her grandparents, adding another personal layer to the tables.
And of course, their goldendoodle, Mila, was there too — because it wouldn’t have felt quite like their day without her being part of it.
A Little Piece of Kokomo in Indianapolis

One of the things that made this wedding especially fun for us was seeing so many familiar Kokomo businesses represented in Indianapolis.
From the flowers and cake to the cookies, DJ and makeup, Morgan and Parker brought quite a bit of home with them to Laurel Hall.
It was a beautiful Indianapolis wedding with a definite Kokomo connection — and we were very happy to be part of it.
