A Heartfelt Wedding at The Venue: Michael and Kathleen’s Special Day
When it comes to weddings, love stories often intertwine with the places and people that hold a special place in our hearts. Michael and Kathleen’s wedding was one such tale, brimming with love, meaning, and the beauty of family ties.
The Bride’s Vision:
Kathleen came to us with a vision, a vision that would set the stage for their dream wedding. She arrived with color swatches, a list of bridesmaids and groomsmen, and a headcount of cherished guests. However, what truly set this experience apart was her trust in us. She left it open for Banner Wedding and Event Flowers to do what we thought best, to transform her dreams into reality.

Our Role:
Our team took Kathleen’s ideas and made them flourish. We carefully curated every detail, from the colors to the decor, ensuring that her dream was woven into every corner of The Venue. It was a labor of love, and we were committed to making this day as special as possible.
A Blossoming Beginning: The Ceremony
Before the enchanting reception, Kathleen and Michael’s wedding ceremony set the stage for their love story. We wanted to create a captivating backdrop for this special moment.
Eternity Ring
One of the most breathtaking highlights of the ceremony was the eternity ring filled completely with flowers. This symbolic display added a touch of grandeur, making the vows exchanged within it even more meaningful. It was a testament to the couple’s everlasting love, beautifully encapsulated in petals and blooms. Eternity Ring, or Moongate rental item of Banner Flower House

The Bouquet
Kathleen’s bouquet was a masterpiece in its own right. Comprising a delicate blend of roses, garden roses, and carnations, pepperberry, astilbe and mixed eucalyptus; it exuded elegance and femininity. As the she walked down the aisle, her bouquet added a soft and romantic touch to her overall look.

Bridesmaids’ Bouquets
Kathleen’s bridesmaids carried petite versions of her bouquet, creating a harmonious and coordinated look, especially with their plum dresses.
The smaller bouquets echoed the charm of the bride’s bouquet, uniting the bridal party with a shared sense of beauty.

Groom and Groomsmen
Michael and his crew chose to forego traditional boutonnières and instead embraced a popular trend—the pocket square. This not only added a touch of sophistication but also eliminated the need for pinning, making it a practical choice for the groom and his groomsmen.

The Petals
The entire aisle was adorned with petals, creating an ethereal pathway for the bride. Michelle Herr's (of Banner Flower House, also mother of the groom) artistic vision came to life as flower petals whimsically trailed down the aisle. This visual feast added an extra layer of romance to the ceremony, making it a moment to remember.
Lanterns and Romantic Lighting: Kathleen and Michael’s Reception Ambiance
Kathleen’s trust in Banner Flower House’s artistic vision paid off handsomely. With a couple of essential requirements in mind—lanterns and romantic lighting—the design team embarked on a journey to create an atmosphere that would leave guests in awe.
Classic Black Lanterns
Lanterns played a central role in the reception’s decor. They were strategically placed throughout the venue, adding a touch of charm and a warm, inviting glow. These lanterns served as both functional lighting and elegant decorations, creating a dreamy and whimsical atmosphere. Lanterns and candles are rental items of Banner Flower House.
Romantic and Flickering-a Different Type of Lantern
The heart of the reception design was the infusion of candlelight, shining through these lanterns (would you believe they are battery operated) Soft, flickering candles were present in these lanterns casting a warm and intimate glow. In a bed of romantic blooms, it was as though the entire room was bathed in the soft, golden light of love. These lanterns are also a rental of Banner Flower House.

Elevated Centerpieces
To add a dash of drama and elegance to the reception, Banner Flower House incorporated elevated centerpieces. These towering floral arrangements graced the King's Tables, reaching towards the ceiling and creating a stunning focal point. They combined lush blooms and greenery with the soft illumination of candles, delivering a sense of grandeur and enchantment. Classic black rises, rental items of Banner Flower House.

The result of Kathleen’s carte blanche approach to design was a reception that embodied her vision of a romantic wonderland. The lanterns, the candlelight, and the elevated centerpieces seamlessly blended to create an atmosphere where love and beauty intertwined.
The Family Connection
What made this wedding even more extraordinary was the close-knit connection between the couple and the venue. Michael, the groom, holds a special place in the hearts of Banner Flower House. He is not just a groom; he’s the son and grandson of owners Michelle and Darrin Herr and Janice and John Lagzdins. The family connection added an emotional depth to the entire event. It was a beautiful reminder of how love can bridge generations and create lasting memories.

Michael and Kathleen’s wedding was a true testament to the power of love, family, and collaboration. Their special day was a celebration of dreams realized and bonds strengthened. It was a moment in time that will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to witness it.
In the end, it’s not just the flowers, the colors, or the location that make a wedding truly special. It’s the love and the story behind it. Michael and Kathleen’s wedding was a beautiful love story that will be remembered not only for its picturesque setting but for the love that bound their hearts and families together. It was a day that reminded us all that when love is at the center, every moment becomes truly unforgettable.
